SOPHIE – ENGINEER, WIFE AND MOTHER OF 2

I was a bit intimidated going to a gym again.  It had been many years since I had gone to one regularly.  I was making a conscious move from running and yoga to more strength based training. I wanted to improve my strength, lower my body fat and be able to do deadlifts.  After about 3 months, my strength has definitely improved, I am consistently deadlifting progressively increased amounts and I think that my body fat is decreasing.

The assessments identified mobility issues that I was not aware of.  I did not realize the impact that sitting in front of a computer has on my range of motion and how that contributed to recurring hip issues. I feel more cognisant of having better posture and form in everyday movements in order to avoid injury.  I think that this awareness triggers me to correct my form more frequently and to realise the importance of breathing especially in stressful situations. The main adaption that Hussein made was to adjust my training based on recurring hip pain.  His recommendations for stretching and rest enable the pain to subside more quickly than ever before and for me to return to my program with minimal time lost. I feel more comfortable in my own skin, but I think I still have a ways to go. The nutrition additions have resulted in a marked increase in energy throughout the day (without any need for caffeine) and the most deep and restoring sleep I have had in years.  This combination has lowered my stress level and given me the reserves to confidently handle new stresses when they arise. The nutrition and emotional tracking were very useful in identifying times and triggers for certain eating habits.  This awareness makes me better able to understand when and why certain cravings happen and to try to make different choices. I would recommend Hussein as a coach to close friends and family.
